THE STORY

 

Yulbun and gunia is a traditional aboriginal food that is found in the billabongs (waterholes). The Yulbun is the stalk of the water lily plant and the gunia is the bulb. Alawa people cook the bulb and the stalk is eaten raw. In the green you will see the bulbs growing on the root system you will also see the leaves and flowers of the water lily plant.
